Five Hair Styles for the Festive Season

Five Hair Styles for the Festive Season

Hey Guys,

With the Christmas party season fast approaching, not only do we need to start thinking about our party frocks and effortless ensembles, but what are we going to do with our hair!
Today, I am bringing you a Hair-inspo post in collaboration with the amazing hair salon "The Chapel".
I head to their London, Islington branch last week to create these 5 looks with stylist Kim. We have varied the styles from down-do's to up-do's and even half-up do's! These styles are perfect for every occasion this Christmas; dinner with the rents, dinner with the other-half's fam and even the classic- work Christmas party.
I hope you find something you like and if you do, let me know in the comments!

I have never been to The Chapel before, so I was blown away by how beautiful it is. This must be the most stylish hair dresser in London!

First step was my wash and condition. Kim used some smoothing shampoo by the brand Keratin, to help with the smoothness during the blow dry.
Gotta love the head massage too!

Look 1

This first look is a classic, bouncy-curls style.  It was created with just a blow-dry. My hair is naturally super curly/frizzy/kinky, so to get this smooth finish is a huge testament to Kim's skills!

The curls are loose and start about 3/4 way up the strands. The parting is just off centre to create a lovely, natural frame around my face.
If trying this style at home, I would recommend blow-drying or using hair straighteners to achieve a smooth look, then create the curls with tongs or for lower heat exposure, use rollers overnight and plenty of holding spray!

Look 2

This vintage-inspired, loose-waves style is my second look!

We achieved this by pin curling my hair, allowing to cool, then brushing loose.
I love this style and think it would look fantastic with a vintage-inspired dress!

Look 3

This half-up, half-down style with braid detail is the perfect style for any hair type and is super easy to achieve!

Divide your hair into two halves horizontally. Take the top section and split into two halves vertically. French braid each of these sections working towards the middle of your head and secure with a small elastic. Tease the braids a little loose to create a more boho-feel. Secure any leftover hair by spiralling into a rose- esque pattern (see above photo).

Look 4

This classy low bun is a simple, yet effective style for your posher events this year ;)
Simply fasten your hair in a loose, low bun. No need for partings or scraping the hair back. Keep it loose and chic!

Four down, one to go...

Look 5

This final look is a little twist on the everyday pony, transforming it into a more polished, evening look.

Create this look by tying the hair into a high ponytail and smoothing down any flyaways. Then take a small strip of a lightweight material (we used a thin mesh-y piece). It should be the same width as how high you would like the pony to sit away from your head.
Tie the material around the base of the ponytail and secure with a bobby pin. Use a piece of hair from the ponytail to wrap around the material and cover it up. Secure this too.
Lil' bit of hairspray for good measure and there you have it!

Some of the products we used in my hair.

I hope you enjoyed this post and feel sufficiently inspired! I would really love to see any pictures if you try one (or more) of these styles!
